Allergic Conditions

At the Watergate and Burke Allergy and Asthma Centers, we strive to provide our patients with the best treatment and relief of their symptoms.

We provide comprehensive treatment for a wide variety of allergic symptoms and conditions. Check out the list below for the conditions we most commonly treat.

Environmental Allergies

Allergies to Trees, Grasses, Weeds, Dust mite, Molds and Pets

Eye Allergies

Includes symptoms of eye itching, burning, redness and discharge

Asthma

Includes symptoms of shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing. Asthma can have allergic and non-allergic causes.

Hives (Urticaria)

Red bumps or welts can be caused by a broad range of allergens.

Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)

Dry, red, irritated and flaky skin can be caused by allergens in the environment or the condition may run in your family. 

Contact Dermatitis

Rashes, blisters, or itching can be caused by contact with an allergen such as metals or chemicals in the products you use everyday. 

Food Allergy

Symptoms of food reactions and anaphylaxis can occur in both children and adults. The most common food allergens are milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, soy, wheat, shellfish, and fish. 

Sinus Infections

Symptoms may appear like a bad cold with headache, facial pain, runny nose and congestion.

Anaphylaxis

Severe allergic reactions requiring epinephrine can be triggered by different allergens including foods, insects, or medications.  

Drug Allergy

Reactions can be caused by any medication, most commonly to penicillin, sulfa and NSAIDs.  

Eosinophilic Esophagitis

A major cause of difficulty with swallowing that is related to allergic causes. Symptoms include dysphagia, heartburn, stomach pains, vomiting, and regurgitation.   

Nasal Polyps

Growths in the sinuses can cause frustrating symptoms of congestion, postnasal drip, decreased sense of smell, headache, and sinuses. 

Immune Disorders and Recurrent Infections

Recurrent infections could mean there is a problem with how your immune system is working. Further evaluation is important to keep you healthy and free from infections.
